on stock SC20s with the cable traveler, the bracket can be secured to the rear beam with 4 large hose clamps, obviating the need to drill the beam. On this boat I've got solid beams, and now a solid traveler track, so this motor mount is attached with six 10-24 screws tapped into the beam. Note that the 2" square tube is hinged at the beam, which allow me to lift the motor and the arm, and slip a wooden wedge between the arm and the channel that supports it, to raise the motor well clear of the water. The wedge is tethered with a short pc of line so I don't lose it, when the motor is lifted, its weight is sufficient to keep the wedge in place.
