Aft end of the pole(carbon windsurf mast)secured to the rear beam with some small dia bungie. Using bungie is important because you'll be kneeling on top of the pole as you cross the tramp, and you want it to flex away downward, easier on your knees and the pole. The bungie also aids in quick deployment and stowing.
