If you do get runs, WET SANDING IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO. it is much easier and get better results with a lot less effort. Wish I knew this from the start!

ready to put the hardware back on, chased the threads and dry fitted before I put any sealant on. It helps to have a lower casting with no rudder so you can be sure everything lines up

make sure everything lines up and is threaded correctly before you press in the sealant. having to pull it apart and redo it can lead to bubbles and early failure

make sure to force the sealant into all the little cracks and holes. This will go a long way to keeping water out when you are really working the boat hard

rebuilt castings with rudder stiffening kit. Slip the disks in then use an awl to ge them all lined up. Tighten nuts till movement stiffens then back off till free again

Remember to keep the nuts on the insides. I scratched P and S into the castings before I took them apart just to be sure they went on the same way they came off for new parts, this does not matter much but for 22 year old parts IT DOES!

I forgot to take pics while lacing up the tramp but I was a little busy any way. A marlin spike wedged into a gromet is a great way to hold the tension until you can relocate. This tramp only cost $150 off ebay and fit great. I also added tramp clamps in
