poor way to connect X tie Bat to tillers, with the tie bar mounted above the tillers, there is leverage against the bolts that connect them & it wears the holes in the tillers. I changed so the tie bar fits between the tillers, connected via "U" fitting at each end. You need to wrap wire around the end of the "U" so it cannot pivot on the tiller. If it does it can get into a position that locks the steering.
