P-Cat Rudder Assembly
This is what one of the rudder assemblies looks like on the Pacific Catamaran 19. It's an aluminum casting with gudgeon pins cast in place. A stainless sheet metal weldment is bolted to the top using what appear to be 1/4"-20 hex head bolts. There's a lock riveted just below the upper gudgeon pin that locks the rudder assembly onto the gudgeons.
The blade pivots on a 5/16" bolt. There is also a 1/8" hole drilled toward the aft end of the housing that lines up with a hole in the blade. This is slightly different for each blade (meaning each blade is now paired to a particular housing) so this may have been done as a modification by a previous owner.
Below the housing there is a 3/8" hole drilled in the blade. This was part of a shock cord mechanism I'll describe in other pictures. Other than this there appears to be no mechanism for holding the blades down or up.
