Traveler Car
A closeup of the traveler car on the P-Cat. I'm almost certain the car itself is original. The holes where the blocks are attached had been wallowed out, so I repaired them:
First I potted them with West Systems epoxy and colloidal silica filler, then filed them flush. Next I drilled and tapped them to take a #10-32 Helicoil. This left me with a traveler car with stainless threads in it to take the blocks.
I couldn't find blocks that were a good match for this, so I stripped the bails off the old blocks (which were destroyed), and moved them to a new pair of Harken cheek blocks.
The rollers on the bottom of the traveller car aren't in great shape. They'll do for now, but I'm planning to make up a whole batch out of Delrin on the lathe. Spares will go in the gear bag.
