Trapeze Sets
We wound up getting a bunch of stuff for our boat from Sailcare. They were the only ones who had the oddball pivoting sheave/cam-cleat combination that the jib sheet on the P-Cat uses, and we wound up cruising their catalog for other stuff as well.
They offered some really nice adjustable trapeze sets for about $35 apiece, so I picked up four. They were rigged for a dinghy, meaning the trap ring likes to pull DOWN. I like the setup most catamarans use, where the trap ring likes to pull UP. So we modified them.
The mod was to add a block on the bottom of the cam cleat, and add line stoppers on either side of the line that feeds through it. The block is a little larger than I was after, but in practice I haven't had any problems. I haven't really set the line stoppers to offer a good pull-up range when the ring isn't engaged in a trap harness, but all the bits are there.
So far we haven't been out on the wire on this boat. I'm looking forward to the day when we get to use them.
