Nacra 5.8 Downhaul system

I have a 1992 Nacra 5.8 and am new to sailing. The guy I bought the boat from didn't have time to help set up the boat at all (He was moving to Mexico the next day). We took the cat out on lower Green Bay last week and after about 1.5 hours we had the boat moving. Took it easy because I am not sure we have the rigging correct. I could not figure out how to use the cam cleats on the main beam or a couple of blocks on the main beam and tramp. Any ideas?

A little about myself, 45 years old and back in my Navy days my roomate had a Nacra cat and we sailed on the Chesapeake Bay off Chix Beach(those were the days). My crew is my 25 year old daughter and 14 year old son.

I have pic's just haven't figured out how to attach yet.

Camcleats and cheak blocks on the mainbeam of a 5.8 should be for mast rotation. There is a single block in the center of the main beam on the tramp side for the main halyard.

On my 5.2, block on mast is for downhaul. Downhaul tied to tack, down through block, back up and through block on the tack, down through jam cleat on starboard side of mast. Other jam cleat on port side of mast is for jib halyard. No blocks or cleats for main halyard on a 5.2. Pin capture system at top of mast secures the sail/halyard. When set properly, no significant tension (other than simply securing the halyard from going overboard or getting tangled) should be placed on the main halyard as it may cause the pin to come out, and bring the sail down.

Hey Guys,
Thanks for the replies, I will try to get out this week. The temperture is really hot around here but no wind.

Also try to put on the pics.
