Gin pole used on F18HT, which is a little odd, as this mast is raised opposite of most cats, which have the mast laying aft across the tramp. Because the mast is raised backwards, two of the trap wires are secured to the pole tip instead of the forestay. But this arrangement benefitted from having the ability to lay the mast in the trailer's mast cradle to begin. Like all these poles, lines from the pole tip, and 2 trap wires are secured to the main beam ends to keep the pole and mast in the plane of the boats centerline. And with this boat, the two forestays are secured before raising. With normal raising, the two sidestays are attached prior to stepping.
