Old style mainsheet traveler system keeps getting caught in the cleat
Hello. I'm new to the H16 and especially to the older traveler car on the 1974 I just acquired. It's just a flat peice of metal with three holes and there are claw style cleats on each end of the rear crossbar. The only way i can figure this works is by attaching the mainsheet lower block to the middle (larger) hole and then running a separate control line in and out through the other two holes then have each end of the line running through the claw cleats. It's almost impossible to use this way because the lines keep cleating themselves as they run through the claws. I hope any of this makes sense but if you have used this type of traveler system I think you'll understand what I'm getting at. Looking for the best way to rig the control line so it works like it should. Thanks!
