I’ve just completed a restoration of 1969 Cal Cat. I was wondering if there are any other active Cal Cats still sailing out there. I think that there were about 600 of them made, but even the latest boats would be around 45 years old. If anyone has one, or knows of one still sailing, please let me know.

When I first joined CRAM in Michigan in 1970, it was mostly all Cal Cats, so there could be a small collection of boats there. Contact someone in CRAM. Pete

Pretty rare cat! We do have a few pics of "found in the wild" CalCat catamarans.

I just bought a Cal Cat the end of last summer!
My brother got his hands on a Sunfish and i felt i needed something of my own to mess around with and found the Cal Cat nearby for a decent price.
I have been trying to learn all i can about her, but have had a hard time finding technical information, so if anyone has links or information on dates or serial numbers i would appreciate it!

Can someone tell me where the Hull number is on a Cal Cat?
I had the Cat stored up on blocks covered with a tarp for the winter in my back yard, about 20' from my neighbor's driveway. A few weeks back now i noticed a man slowly riding a small quad around the field behind my house with a little kid in his lap, then about 5 minutes later i heard the quad engine rev back up and someone yelling. I was already in the back yard near the boat and i noticed the engine and yelling getting louder, and looking over i see this little girl on the quad tearing up the neighbor's driveway towards the road, and her dad running after her yelling for her to stop. At first i thought it was funny, a kid running away from her parents, just being naughty, but quickly realized that this was actually a kid who was out of control and in a very dangerous situation, so i started to run after her too. Just a second after i started to run after her she swerved suddenly, came barreling through the tall grass between their driveway and my back yard, and crashed in the Cat. knocked it off the blocks and pushed it about 3', put a nice big hole in it too.
luckily the little girl was totally unharmed, she was only 4 and i guess as soon as her dad had stepped off the quad she had just leaned forward and grabbed the throttle, took off like a rocket and was too scarred or unable to let go.
I will work on getting some pictures to share.
@lewessailor the only number i have found on mine (395) is stamped into the foremost frame, to the right of the mast foot/ main sheet cam cleat.
