It would be great to have a crowd at B'ham this year. It is a great location and a great time! See you there...

I was just thinking about paying BC's entry if he'd do an onshore sail trim seminar. He would be well worth it....

I hate this F17 vs F16 deal ... we should do more to promote each other. Some fits, others don't... whatever.

The main thing is to get peeps sailing... hard to do at my club (or at least expand).

I agree, I just deleted a post about the whole issue in the main forum. I like it here much better (however, I felt somewhat violoated when he showed up on the ratings thread )
He gives out very few bits of useful info - only enigmatic crap. As much as people get on Wouter's case for stuff at least he gives out good info in some of his posts and will answer questions. Whatever... I wish I could kick his butt (sailing, of course) but that is unlikely to happen (I understand his superiority but he doesn't have to be so arrogant about it).

ANYWAY

wish I could join you in birmingham! I am only a few miles away though <img src=

Hey Tom. Mapquest shows that I'm only 12 hours away. The good news is that I would only have to take one road for most of the time. Oh well. Will catch up sometime/somewhere. Ed

Tom,
I just wanted to let you know I will be there this weekend. I hope to leave here early Friday and get there around noon. Sorry for the late notice but my weekend just got freed up. I want to camp but it all depends on how much free time I can get this week to prep.

Chris-
Sounds great! We should be there about 1030-1100 Friday. Be fun to have some lake time before the racing.
Hope to have a crowd-

Great news Chris!!

The camping is not too strenuous. Drive to your campsite and dump out a tent. There is a full clubhouse with a well stocked kitchen (all the utensils, coffee maker, microwave, stove/oven, high volume ice maker, etc.), full locker rooms, large fireplace and huge porch. Really the only

camping thing

is sleeping in a tent - unless you are Joanna, then you can sleep in the Oley-Mobile.

My plan is to be there 5 minutes before Joanna/Oley to open the club gates.

There is potential for a F16 to be available for

charter

(no fee) for this regatta. I won't know for sure until Friday (sorry). 1-up or 2-up, no problems.

Meals provided: Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday bfast.

Tom letem sit outside the gate for awhile, they do not need extra practice time on the boat. After they raced with me on the Flying scot this weekend joanna might be timid about going so fast.

The need for speed is much greater now after floating on the Scott. You are just scared.....

Ahhh, yes. Good times on the FS....

Sorry I missed your/Oley's call Friday night. We DO have water in the lake. They had a Thistle regatta at the club this past weekend with 33 boats on the line. No water level problems.

See you Friday.

Tom-
I'm coming, leaving Friday early if plans go right. I hope you don't hate me but I'm bringing my Flyer since I really need to practice with it before the Worlds next month!!
Also planning to camp in the back of my truck-
Glad to hear there is water!

Awh... heck. Having you there on the A-Class is better than not being there at all. The Worlds will be here before you know it...

I was planning on running all the F16s in an open fleet in order to get comaprative times, anyway. No worries, although I will miss seeing the Taipan. A lot of people there will have never seen any F16 except the Blade.

Tom, I don't know if the RC kept the times but if you can contact someone at the Gulfport YC, they have been running F16's vs. A cats in one fleet for a while now, there should be lots of data if they kept it.

I bet they do, lots of A-Class and F16 sailing at GYC.

I was really alluding to the fact that the F16s will not be broken out into a separate fleet, but rather race with the Open Low Portsmouth Fleet - so Kirt bring his A-Class would not jeopardize a F16 fleet status.

I am trying to make sure as many times are submitted to USSA, as possible.

Great weekend of sailing. 10-18 throughout the weekend, no chop. Nice.

Read'm, and weep. Good showing for F16.

Oley and Joanna are slippery fast. Check their finishes.

I agree. was a great weekend. Thanks Tom and all the BSC for putting on a great event.
Joanna and Olie really put on a clinic. I think there were only 2 marks that they did not round first the entire weekend. They really showed what that boat can do.

Note how much the same the elapsed time results are in comparison with the handicapped time. They could just have forgotten about the handicaps as the final outcome would have been prefectly the same overall.
