Went out today for a lovely 5 min. of sailing. After my first tack, a "pop" and the Prindle 16 main halyard ends up in my lap. Somehow the sail stayed up until I limped back in. It broke right above where the 'stop ball' was swaged on.
I bought it in May of '24 - would this be considered a normal lifespan for this piece of rigging when used in saltwater? Any opinions on Salty Dog ($65) vs. Murrays ($115) quality?
