[#29488]

First boats are around the A-pin in the first race... hopefully we'll see some social media updates. Six boats; three Nacra F16s, two Vipers and one Falcon F16. Light breeze (about 6-7 knots) for the first race.

Good luck teams, RC and volunteers - here's hoping for a trouble-free event!

From US Sailing's tweet: Race 1 top 3: 1. Sarah Newberry and Kenny Pierce, 2. Sandra Tartaglino and Glenn Holmes, 3. Streater... 7-8 knots on Pensacola Bay.

Holy picket fence, Batman. It's a race for second for sure...

US Sailing is doing a great job on the updates. This is a huge improvement.

Last day, and only two races scheduled. By 1:00pm local time, it will be on the books. Looks like some history will be made; Sarah Newberry and Kenny Pierce could literally take the day off. This will be the first woman skipper to win the Alter Cup. There hasn't been a woman's name on the trophy since the event was hosted in CT on Hobie 16s in 2003, when Mike and Kathy won a very tough event.

Nice job by Sarah, but a championship with only six boats?

Nice job by Sarah and Kenny, period. She's no slacker, nor are the others.

Is she still

Congrats, great to see a young woman hammering the old farts! This mixed multi Olympic thing could catch on!
