Can't Get Catsailor Homepage as Complete Page

Indeed, there's a white space on the right side of the page.
Should there be something? When I look into the source-code I can't see nothing that should appear in that space.
Maybe the page has been resized to a smaller width.
Probably for some narrowminded people in the post about "Taipan cost?"

I think Rick himself is using a low screen resolution, it would explain why he recently complained that pictures in post are screwing body of text in them (as in having to scroll horizontally). It would make sense that the other webpage are configured to fill out the same screen resolution. Ergo leave a large white space to the right.

The width of the front page table is set at 700 pixels...
table width="700"
If you are runnning your computer monitor at 800x600 resolution it will fill most of the screen. If you are running at a higher resolution it will only fill part of the screen. Im running at 1280x1024 so almost half is white space (1280-700 = 580 pixels of white space).
All the information should be there, it just may not fill your screen.
Well, good luck. I have been asking Rick for the past couple of years why the starboard third of my home page is blank. I'm happy to hear that I am not the only one.
However, it does not interfere with the objects and text on the page -- my page has all the right stuff but is just narrower than my monitor screen. So this is not the same problem that Brian has, apparently.
I see the space in both Internet Explorer and Firefox, both are latest versions. As stated above the issue is a resolution issue, not a webiste or a browser issue.
It is something that us folks that use high resolutions have to deal with. Lots of websites do this. One quick and easy way to resolve it is centering the table.
The table width specified in the main page is 700 pixels and that's why we're seeing the blank side. If it were set to 100% instead of specifiying a pixel width, it would spread the home page out to cover the whole page.
This is something recent though - right? I don't remember there being a white space over there.
I am using an Apple 23" Widescreen, with the Safari Browser, FireFox and IE and the whole home page is shifted to the left with a huge white space to the right so maybe the site could use a resolution adjustment now that screen resolutions are getting larger these days?
You know what? Bonnie agrees - it's always been that way. I never really noticed. However, I made some copies and played with the layout some (this should blow your mind).

Brian Mc,
You said
Can you clarify? Does the home page fill up your whole monitor screen -- and more -- so that you can't see all of the text and ad on the right side of the page?
Or do you have the complete home page but narrower than your full monitor screen, so there is white space on the right side?
I just puzzles me that you say you cannot read all of the text on the home page.
In the case of myself and other people, we have the complete page, but it just doesn't fill up the whole monitor screen. It's not like anything is missing.
In your case you are saying that "so much isn't there."
This problem is only on the first page, right? I don't have this problem and my Mac screen is running at 1024 x 768. If I stretch the window on the first page I see there is white space to the right that does not fill up, but on the discussion forums there is no space to the right, and if I expand the window it just fills in.
Mary and Rick, I'm using Internet Explorer's latest version/update. I get exactly what Jake showed. The right hand side of the page is missing. Can't read the articles because so much text isn't there...Jake, what is it I should be doing/adjusting to get the whole thing? Otherwise I may have to get it posted on Seacats! PS: I may get out for my first sail of the summer tomorrow!
Hi Brian,
To do a screen shot, open the page in question, then hit the button that says
Print Screen
on your keyboard. Located above the 6 keys that have Insert, Home, Page Up, Delete, End and Page Down.
Now you will have a picture on your clipboard.
Then you can paste it into almost any program (i.e., wordpad, word, etc.) and then let us see the file as an attachment.
I certainly cannot understand the missing text. Meanwhile, I have been in discussion about the sizing thing with my tech guy. He says the industry standard is 700 pixels, but if I want to I could make it 100%. There could be problems with the overall layout, however, if I change the template.
Next week I might have some time to play around with it and see what happens.
Stand by for a crash! <img src=

The site has always had the width set to 700 pixles. This was set to fit most standard screen width of 800x600 or greater. The 700 width is also the total width of the catsailor logo and rotating banners across the top.
It is odd how that msn browser is cutting the page off. Does it cut the following page off:

That test page is set to 100% width.
