Terrific facilities, good racing (when the wind shows - about 75% of the time so far), and a great group of people. Power boats can occasionally be a PITA. Anything else? <img src=

My understanding is that it is the following weekend. There is a race labor day weekend, but not Cat Fest. But I need details, see below...

Sept. 9th and 10th.

No problem with the no-comptip. No problems with new racers...come on! Be glad to help anyway I can. I'm not sure but registration is usually 35 - 40 dollars.

Sounds like fun, I'm looking forward to this one.

I see the NOR references 'current US Sailing Portsmouth numbers'. I wonder if the numbers for an inactive class are considered current.

yes they are. This is a low-key event and is open and welcoming to all beach cats.

They might have more information about Catfest on their website: http://www.lakenormanyachtclub.com/index.htm

Hey Tad, are you gonna make it out this year?

I think Trey already has crew, but if I can help I'll come up there and hang out. We should be nearly settled in by then <img src=

I need to find something that I can drive.

I've still got it!

I just need something to tow behind it if you know what I mean!

John Williams wants to have my Isuzoom, but he can't have it. Its mine!

(unless he wants to trade his capricorn for it straight up, I'd take that deal)

I knew I heard of Lake Norman, it's where alot of the NASCAR drivers live, and yes they have big go fast boats.

Oh, I see... It's Cat FEST... Fest, without an 'A'. That completely changes the nature of the event.
It still sounds like fun anyway.

If you're suggesting that there won't be enough wind for you, think again. During last year's Cat Fest I remember the 18sq sailors getting a little nervous and the Isotopes pulling out early on Sunday due to increasing winds.

And the F18's ate it up! Man, that was a great two days of racing...missed out on 1st place by 1 point.

No, I wasn't at all implying that the wind won't blow. It was a joke, I was suggesting I misread 'cat fest' as 'cat feast'. A sick joke, I agree. But (IMHO) funny none the less. But then again maybe not if I have to explain it.

Eat what you want. I'll stick with the traditional hamburgers. <img src=
