The Hyannis Regatta on July 27-29 will once again serve as the Eastern Area Championship for the US F18 class. The event promises to be one of the largest F18 events in the US during the period leading up to the Long Beach Worlds. The early entry deadline is July 20th, and the list of current entries is already looking good with strong contingents from both Canada and Florida making the drive.

Event registration is here: https://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_registration_form.php?regatta_id=5460

If you need help with logistics, or are looking for a crew or skipper, please contact me and the Eastern Area Fleet will do our best to make sure you can sail.

Hope to see you there!

27 boats appears to be the final number for the start of tomorrows regatta.
Red Gear racing clinic was great with everyone taking away alot especially in 18 to 25 knots and very lumpy sea state. We headed on early when it started to get up to 25 Taylor Reiss pitchpoled on the way in with no spinnaker up snapping his spreader upon impact with the water and snapping his mast. Numerous other brokeb parts all over the beach including lots of 420 spinnaker poles.
Conditions look to be a bit lighter for most of the regatta.

Did they get any races in today? I just took a look at the Boston radar and it looks ugly, but it's 10:30pm, was it as bad all day?

6 races today http://hycracing.org/RScores/F18.htm
Bob Merrick has a 5 point lead going into the final day with mike easton second and Robbie daniels third.
Today's conditions were 8-12 knots with moderate chop.
A few general recalls led to a black flag with a couple boats being ocs.

Full regatta writeup is published in today's scuttlebutt newsletter: www.sailingscuttlebutt.com under the 'sailing shorts' section. The writeup is also up at www.nacrasailing.com.

The regatta was great, with twelve competitive races over the three days. Easton/Burd were first, with Merrick/Burd second, and Reiss/Whitehead third. Brooks Reed and I were seventh, and left some points on the water Sunday with a couple small breakdowns- better now than at worlds.

Nest up for our fleet is the New England 100 on August 11-12
