Gulf open water race

http:/
We ought to be able to put something like this together between Tampa Bay and Naples. Plenty of spots to duck into; might even limit the off shore distance. Lord knows we have all the electronics in the world to enforce it.
The Gulfport to Pensacola Race does not allow beach cats. The event is restricted to PHRF offshore sailing craft.
The RTI at FWYC was scheduled for the same weekend (June 15 & 16). I heard this weekend the date has changed...??? I'll know by lunch and get back with you.
Bert have you read the info on that race cause I did and it sureis discribing a beach cat righting line requiered and the if they show up line...... I thing it open but know onw ever does it but it would be a good race I'd do it and it would be a chalange. Let me know after you read the race instructions I may have misinturpited but I don't think so HUM
I have been sailing in the race for thirty + years and know the OA and PRO. They included part of our (GYA MHC) safety recommendations but left parts unclear; ie synthetic trap wires.
The NoR states that only PHRF rated boats are eligible. We re-established the Class for PHRF multihulls through negotiations with the chain of command about ten or twelve years ago.
FYI, I believe Gene Wallet still owns the record he set in the late sixties/early seventies on a P-Cat with spinnaker.
YaHoo Daddy! Make plans to attend the
Round the Island Race.
The official NoR will be up later this week on the FWYC site.
June 22 - 24.
Beach Cats are not allowed in the Gulfport to Pensacola Race. The Gulf Yachting Association Multihull Council has procured eligibility for PHRF multis, but we have no interest in including beach cats since the RTI, out of FWYC, is dedicated to that mission.
