At first, when Chris approached Mark Schnieder and I w/ this request we thought ... IMPOSSIBLE ... the JO's are in Annapolis next year ... so we need an invitation and where will we launch from ??? (... or was it where do we launch from so we can get an invit' to the event ...) But it has come together nicely w/ the help of the Greater Multihull Community .... Thanks All.

Hi,
So far we have three teams registered from CALIFORNIA ... one from CANADA ... more coming from New Jersey ... up-state New York ... of course Maryland
... but we are still looking for Junior Teams from the southeastern portion of the United States
And we do have charter boats availible ... the Hobie sailors such as Bob Merrick ... Geoff Becker ... Jimmie Glanden and many more have offered their H16's for charter at a very low rate for this event ....
So ... book some airline tickets and join us at one of the finest yacht clubs in the United States ... ANNAPOLIS YACHT CLUB ...
There are
threads
running on the Hobie Community Forum/Hobie racing ... and at the AYC website www.annapolisyc.com

The region was hit by a killer storm on friday which knocked out power to half the area for up to a week.... when it kicked back on... it killed the router at Annapolis Sailing School and so some of us were out of touch .... coupled with a huge heat wave... the stories are now being written.... stay tuned.. pics are up on facebook... results were up from the committee boat. details coming.
Bottom line... a fantastic success

Gary Jobson gives a talk to the Hobie Youth sailors and comments on Multihulls, and the Olympics.
http:/
Hi,
That video is the first 6 mins of
Gary
speaking for ... maybe a half hour .... (you can see me on Gary's right w/ the Panama Hat every now and then ...) ... he talked ... and talked ... and talked ... he was GREAT!!!! And then at the end a pic was taken of Gary standing on the H16 ... w/ JR Sailer's beside him and in front ... A GREAT PICTURE!!!
... but the best was Gary sitting on the Starboard bow of a H16 ... Carly Madge and Joseph Bello sitting beside him ... and Gary giving Carly a signed/autographed copy of his book w/ a personal message ... (CoCo, Thanks for the use of your boat .... BUT WE NEED THAT PIC!!!!!)
.... and this happened because Gary
just happened
to stop by for our Skipper's Meeting .... ( Yaaa ... right, the man is
scheduled
so tightly it's unbelievable ...)
... a
favor
was asked ... just stop by and spend some time w/ our Juniors as they get ready in the morning ...
It didn't appear on any
official
schedule ... and when later we we're asked why we were not answering our phones/radios ... we said Gary stopped for a visit ... and was talking ....
... at the same time Ms Taren Teague w/ a number of the RC Judges had stopped by to see our launch site/Skipper's Meeting also ... and they reported on what was happening ... it was the
talk
at the AYC bar that evening how Gary went to the Hobie site to be w/ the Jr Hobie Sailors !!!
