My wife and I are planing on going to Key West for a week (Jul 28th to Jun 4th,) and I was wondering if anybody has some advice for us. I was toying with the idea of doing a bare boat charter which apparently would cost us $3-4K, but I was hoping for the vacation to be more like $2K.
Does anybody have some ideas? Places to stay, and places to go especially. I know several people here will want to offer my space in their spare bedroom and such, but we are looking for more of an
us time
type vacation, something where we don't have to do a lot of socializing.
Any advice?

if memory serves, there are quite a few bed and breakfast
resorts
(more like rustic, but still quaint) that include use of small daysailers and the like. Perhaps this might be the best bargain?
Are you planning on taking your boat?
I am not planing on taking my boat.
If you plan in staying from july unit June, I would say. $4k is a bargain!
