[#29685]

Looking to make an offer on a Macgregor36 and trying to get information on the mast raising/lowering procedure. I have found the owners manual online, but the photos are dark. Apparently theres a mast hinge which is missing in the boat Im looking at. The mast is secured with two bolts going through clamps monted on the xbeam at either side of the mast. Just wondering if I can lower this mast using the current setup and also if anybody out there has a photo or dimensions on the hinge to fabricate one. (no comments on the paint scheme)

I had one and yes the mast was easily raised and lowered. As I recall there was a hinge situation. Had a manual, but it went with the boat when I sold it.
Pretty fast boat.

Thanks Rick I was able to find the manual and a photo of the mast step. Not what it has now, but can be fabricated. I read you changed the daggerboard with something out of a F40?

Right. Mine was a single board on the left hull and way too short. The deep dagger really worked and was able to win the Cup of Miami two years in a row over the closest competitor, which was a Condor 40 trimaran.
He had been better upwind, and I was better downwind. With the new, longer board, I was able to beat him on both points of sail.
