NAF18 Nationals will be held on Carlyle Lake near St. Louis next year Sept 18-22. This is the largest inland lake in Illinois. The Carlyle Sailing association has in the past been the host of the Lightning, Y-Flyer, Flying Scot, Hobie 17/18, One of a Kind, and Junior Olympics. We will have top notch race committee and great parties.
The wind at this time of year is blowin.

Surely I am missing something here--isn't Lake Michigan the biggest inland lake [albeit partly] in Illinois?
I believe Lake Michigan is not considered an inland lake because it connects to the ocean without going through a dam.
I don't believe the Great Lakes are considered inland lakes.
But yes, It is bigger.
