[#29126]

Arrived at Texel today and rigged the boats. Windy and cold, so typical Texel conditions. Meteo of the week announces ok for Wednesday and Thursday (Dutch open). After that it seems very windy.

Surf was already quite impressive today, let's hope it calms down a bit 🙂

Will try to post some updates in the evening, check our twitter of facebook page.

Regards,
Gill

Predictions for the next days seem fine, 18 knots tomorrow, 10 knots on Thursday. Friday and Saturday still a questionmark with 20 to 30 knots, but a lot can still change.

Great racing today, no pictures yet.
15 to 20 knots of wind, waves of about 1,5m. 3 races for the Dutch open with Wildcat, C2, Cirrus R, 2 Phantom, Falcon F16's, Nacra 16, Viper, and 2 Nacra 17.

Racing was great and the 16 mixed it up with the 18 pretty well. The first 5 F18 were really good and were way in front. The 10 boats following were pretty close together and there was close racing.

For the 16's Celine Van Dooren & ? on a Viper sailed very consistent finishing first. Behind we were battling with Sandro on a Falcon too for 2nd and 3rd position. Followed by Brazil and Chris Sproat again on a Viper. Then followed again by 2 Falcons and Nacra 16's.

Tomorrow lighter winds so a different type of sailing. Let's hope we do well again 🙂

We are sailing the Nacra Infusion Worlds where none of the other F16s/F20s/F18 can bother us <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
It is a bit of a shame though that the fleets are on completely separate courses, the more the merrier!

Gilo,

assuming the Nacra 17s are the new version how are they going against the rest of the fleet?

Today was all kinds of wind and a lot of waiting 🙂
We did pretty well finishing 1st 'F16' 2 times out of the 5 races. Last race was super fun with close racing, nice wind and sun.

The 2 17's are doing ok, but have very mixed results for the moment. It does not excell like the F20 in speed upwind or downwind.

Also the 16 and 17 look very similar both in sailshape or in hull shape. Seems strange as the one as straight and the other C foils...

Tomorrow big winds are announced, now taking a needed rest 🙂
