How does a fleet of leaners like this work a start or mark rounding?

My first thought was, can you swing the keel up to cross a sand bar? Suckering conventional boats into following you into shallow water might be fun.

Presumably, the swung keel is in its normal position for that angle of sail, so it's just part of the boat.

I wonder how quickly something like that can maneuver (especially while changing tacks)...
