Check out this Hobie 16. Plenty of apparent wind.

Don't let The Chuck (and his hat) get close to it.

You gotta wonder, could you sail behind him on a windless day? Maybe if he dragged a drouge chute to keep his speed down you could just tack back and forth behind him. Gives apparent wind a new meaning.

How does it steer? No connection I can see to the rudders.... and no rudder for the fan housing...

Looks like some sort of line going to the cross bar.

Y'all yankees are obviously not in the know about airboats.

If an airboat decelerates suddenly, and if it's not built with a really long bow, it will pitch forward. That's just how they are.

So this poor craft is DOUBLY compromised.

Clayton, do please tell me that this is not a Cajun-built craft, even a total coona$$ should know better...

hee hee,
tami

Nope, we cajuns know how to build a real air boat and that ain't it. Could be interesting though, like a vegamatic on

Hulk

steroids. Kinda nuts with no guards <img src=

Airboat - take a 400 hp V8 CAST IRON block and mount it about five feet up, behind you, on a short, wide, open aluminum boat(with the buoyancy foam removed - dont want it melting when you spill all that 100 octane). Put a big propeller on it, and use it primarily to catch frogs. Apparently the frogs don't run away - I figure they are too amazed.

Ah Dave, you take the fun out of everything, dang it...

but come to think, when I've been frog catching, it was with a 3hp o.b. on the back of a short, wide, open aluminum boat...

hey, you misspelled 'aluminIum'

This is another Cajun design isn't it? 6 Cylinder, lead block.

Must be. Smart fella, building a cat. (You can tell it is a cat, because the monohull would have the lead strapped underneath in the water, serving no purpose with the electrolysis in seawater).

I'm not sure what's scarier...the lawn chair or the fact that I used to have hair like that.

Yep Dave, you know how to build a frog giggin' boat. $20K rig to catch a frog... now thats smart! Still they do it all the time. Now if they would only realize all they need to do is walk out back to the rice field with a quartz light and just pick them up. <img src=
