Looking to buy a new main this winter. It will be a weekend, not a dedicated race boat. We have heavy, 460 pound crew. Boat is a classic, for now, rigged Marstrom.
Who makes the best sail for this type of use?

jay Glaser at Glaser Sails, or Randy Smyth at Smyth sails. Both have the knowledge and experience to build you a custom tornado main.

Skip Elliot is a Tornado sailor, so Elliot Pattison would worth a call. Everything I've gotten from Glaser has been exceptional as well.

John,

You may give Marton @ 1D sails a ring. While I prefer keeping my greenbacks stateside the reality is the 1D loft have taken there sail design to the next level at the same price point as Glaser. They also the one design Tornado sail loft and have done a number of custom Tornado sails over the past few years for teams sailing heavy or in their local light air lake sailing conditions.

They currently have a technora big head main for sail for 1500 euros or $1700 USD, hard to beat that price.
