[#2994]

Thought I'd throw this out there in case there are beachcat sailors on here from the Memphis area that I don't know about.

At least three boats will be launching from the Teckville Public Use Area which is located on the North side of Sardis Lake.

Weather looks promising with 10+ wind and 30-40% chance of thunderstorms to keep things moving.

Anyway come join us if you can, I'll be there rigging by Saturday 10:30am or so. The Teckville area has facilities, showers, and even a "down home" style restaurant right at the ramp.

Hey guys, I had such a blast down there ( Sardis ) last weekend i'll prob be heading back Sat, maybe sunday for another round. Prob launch closer to dam.
Winds we're killer last weekend in the 20's MPH and i had my crew trapped out almost the whole time. On the way back in had even stronger winds and 3' + waves we were breaking through, getting soaked from the warm water (hard to see though - kept one eye on leeward hull ). Never pitchpoled or capsized even though i was thinking it was going to happen..Confidence booster for sure. The people there definitely liked seeing sail boats and were very friendly. I hope to meet and sail with some of you here soon!
Tim

It was epic, was looking at GPS track and averaged about 15mph boat speed the whole time with sustained 18+ and I was doing everything I could to depower the boat since I was solo. With the crew on the wire it wouldn't surprise me if you guys hit 20+ on the wild ride back.

Planning to head to Sardis in the morning to Teckville Public Use Area. I think we have three boats, two H18's and a H16. Anyone else in? I'm leaving the house at 9am and takes about an hour and a half to get there.
