I am having the transom on my Gcat rebuilt/repaired by a professional. Should I have them do anything different? I have access ports on the rear deck so I could add a piece of aluminum, or plywood and glass, or will this just make the whole transom break off next time instead of just a piece of it?

I have an adjustable outboard mount off an old 22 foot mono if anyone wants it. Also a hobie 16 boom up for grabs.

Hate to see it go in the scrap pile

if done correctly, the rebuild should last 20-30 years without issue

i wouldn't add anything too it except maybe 1 extra layer of glass mat
