I've been restoring a 1974 hobie 16. It's my first boat and I've been learning a lot but still have a long way to go. I've had no problems learning how to sail but I need to know where I can find my local laws regarding where or wether I can beach the cat on the public beach? I'm doing most of my sailing in the newport beach and long/seal beach areas of california. If anyone could point meto where I can find this sort of info it wouldbe a great help. Thnks!

Have you tried posting on the beachcats yahoo group? You might get a quicker reply as this forum is so new it's sort of undiscovered still. There are a lot of catsailors in southern Cal. Very few launch sites these days. Good luck!
