Transporting a trailored 17/18 Toronto to Montreal
I may be doing this in the near future. Anyone have any thoughts on the best / cheapest way to tow or somehow transport either a H17 or TheMightyHobie18 from Toronto to Montreal Canada?
Unfortunately I cannot tow it, as when I will be there i cannot rent a car with a tow hitch.
Appreciate any ideas!
Cheers Alan
Have you thought of borrowing a friend or co-workers SUV or truck? Anything with a hitch will pull a catamaran. Many people even pull them with a 4 cylinder rice burner. They only weigh something like 500 to 800 lbs with trailer. By looking on a map, the drive looks to be less than a 12 hour round trip.

Unfortunately I do not live in that area. It's about a 26 hour drive to Toronto for me. The first 8 hours are over a dirt road.
(Toronto to Montreal is about a six hour drive)
I gotta ask... What is a four cylinder rice burner... would that be a Japanese car? Ahso!
I rented a Ford Ranger from Budget to tow a Prindle 18 from Georgia to VA. I had to sign something that said I wouldn't tow anything, but the truck had a bumper that was rated for towing and all I had to do was install my ball. It was wired for a trailer (w/standard 4 pin connector), too, so it was a pretty easy connect and trip. It was a 6 cylinder and had no problem towing a big boat.
