Easter Regattas

Boga and Paynesville both have Easter regattas worth going to this year. Details on the VMCA calendar.
If anyone needs accommodation for the Paynesville Easter regatta, I need someone to stay at my place in Eagle Point, to look after our arthritic dog (no walking involved!), as I will be away for Easter.
Contact me if interested - 0400 666 486

There is allways Mossies at Paynesville <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
I will know more about, if I can sail next week after the op, if there is not too much pain <img src="<>/cry.gif" alt="cry" title="cry" height="15" width="15" /> Recovery by Easter should be possible as long as it's not too windy (too strenuous) <img src="<>/eek.gif" alt="eek" title="eek" height="15" width="15" /> . Peter N is also staying at my place, so he's sailing Paynesville.
So current count is 4 Mossies, plus 1 possible <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" /> That's better than none Matt and most will have spinnakers (great for the 30 nautical mile race), but I will understand if you want to sail somewhere else <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" /> , where the competition is not as tough <img src="<>/whistle.gif" alt="whistle" title="whistle" height="15" width="15" /> .

Come on Matt, Gary has already said he will probably be injured - No better time to get one over on him. <img src="<>/smirk.gif" alt="smirk" title="smirk" height="15" width="15" />
All is fair, etc... Don't be scared <img src="<>/whistle.gif" alt="whistle" title="whistle" height="15" width="15" />

Thats right - I am better suited to be watching and laughing from a distance <img src="<>/blush.gif" alt="blush" title="blush" height="15" width="15" /> . The task of beating you is best left to others <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />
Hi all,
didn't expect to be posting tonight <img src="<>/confused.gif" alt="confused" title="confused" height="15" width="15" /> . Surgery was scheduled for this afternoon, 8.30 this morning it was cancelled <img src="<>/mad.gif" alt="mad" title="mad" height="15" width="15" /> , no idea of when it may happen now <img src="<>/crazy.gif" alt="crazy" title="crazy" height="15" width="15" /> . So could be fully fit and angry at Easter, watch out Matt <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" /> .
doing this post to bump Easter Regatta thread <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" /> , as I know my surgery is only important to me <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" /> , the latest is 28th April <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> that means all as normal for Easter and time to recover for Sauna Sail <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" /> I hope <img src="<>/whistle.gif" alt="whistle" title="whistle" height="15" width="15" /> .
The Easter Regatta at Gippsland Lakes YC offers something different from the normal round the buoys racing. A long distance 30nm race, which travels around most of Lake King and part of Lake Victoria, you can spend an hour on one tack in trapeze strength breeze <img src="<>/shocked.gif" alt="shocked" title="shocked" height="15" width="15" />. Also a Around Raymond Island Race, a quick dash if the wind is up that can take less than 1hr, currently Neil Joiner holds the record on a mossie <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" />.

Hi all,
wouldn't you know it, got a call from the Hospital today, they have a vacancy for operation this Thursday <img src="<>/mad.gif" alt="mad" title="mad" height="15" width="15" /> . Don't worry decided sailing was a bigger priority yet again <img src="<>/crazy.gif" alt="crazy" title="crazy" height="15" width="15" /> .
As I am booked in next Thursday anyway seemed crazy to miss sailing at Easter <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" /> , don't want to miss the long distance race and the dash around the island <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" /> .
Had a interesting sail to Loch Sport and back yesterday, hard to beat the Gippsland Lakes <img src="<>/smirk.gif" alt="smirk" title="smirk" height="15" width="15" /> . Where else can you spend a couple of hours on one tack <img src="<>/shocked.gif" alt="shocked" title="shocked" height="15" width="15" /> sailing from one club to another, in protected waters, with no tide to worry about <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" /> and best of all get lunch layed on when you get there (thanks Pete) <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> .

Nice one Mitch <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
Hi All,
For anyone unable to make one of the fine regattas on over Easter, we have 2 long course races on Saturday... 10:00hrs start for the first and 14:30hrs for the afternoon race. Forecast looking pretty good at this stage.. but hey... it is McCrae <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
Cheers

Hi all,
thanks to Matt,Daniel and the 2 Peters for coming <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" /> . A enjoyable weekend with a mix of 17 Multihulls competing making for a interesting weekend and a just arrived now local Tornado hitting the water after the last race on Monday, should make things more interesting at the Paynesville in the future. <img src="<>/shocked.gif" alt="shocked" title="shocked" height="15" width="15" />
Weather was as expected for this time of year <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" /> , winds where mostly light making most races pretty long, but luckily the 30nm race finished with the last hour in about 20 knots to get the fast boats home <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" /> (still about a 5 hour race).
As usual today would have been perfect and tomorrow forecast to be as well <img src="<>/mad.gif" alt="mad" title="mad" height="15" width="15" /> , surprising for this time of year, but it is blowing 15-20knots from the east today and more predicted for tomorrow, wouldn't it rot your socks all that good wind going to waste. <img src="<>/cry.gif" alt="cry" title="cry" height="15" width="15" />
