[#25283]

I want to mount a pivoting Exit block on the back of my track in my luff Groove, down toward the Bottom of the mast. Harper has this on his Vectorworks Bimare. How do you anchor this? I want to distribute the load and I certainly don't want to screw into the mast if I can avoid it.
Is there some sort of threaded Rod you can use to tap into so you don't have to just slide a nut down into the track? Don't want to tighten her up and split the luff track groove. I think I've seen one of these somewhere in a parts catalog, but can't seem to find it again . . . . .

I made up a slug to fit inside the Bim 2000 mast attached to the exit block. I then ran a thin piece of line inside the track and tied the slug down to the mast base. That way the up force to the mast rotator line is ok.

Cary, the bolts go thru the mast with washers and self locking nuts inside the mast. Just take the bottom plate off and place it low enough to get a wrench on the top screw. Do the top one first or there is no room to get the wrench in The mast is pretty thich there, or you can fill the very bottom of the track with epoxy and drill thru it and the mast for extra support, Rick

Thanks Rick.
Just got my Fredericksen Mainsheet block mod attaached and tried out yesterday for the first time, what a HUGE difference in how the boat handles.
Need to set up my Outhaul like yours with a single Pivoting Exit Block, I loved the idea of not being able to run out of line. I like the threaded Slug Idea, I ain't so Hot with Epoxy and making things pretty. Also know if I want to adjust it later it is Permanent. Worry about overtightening and stressing the luff track groove, I have a hard hand on a wrench.
I still have those Vectorworks Rudders if you're interested, I'm cashing in spare parts so I csn get a new Tony Arends Mainsail.
Arms, Castings, and Hull gudgeon mounts, all from Matt McDonald just like your originals. Think I paid $650 for the lot, they're like new make me an offer.
I'll be at CLEMSON in a week and a half (July 8-10) can see me there.
CARY

Got any pictures of that? Having a hard time visualizing the line and how you have it attached. Diagram would be fine . . .
