F16UK 2008 Events

I was chatting to John Pierce recently and during this conversation we discussed next years sailing calender. The best we could come up with was holding a minimum of four events 2 at Mumbles and 2 at Datchet. The Datchet dates would need confirming but possibly around mid May and early September. The Mumbles events would take place on 28th-29th June which coincides with our Welsh Cat Championships. Two weeks prior to this is the MYC Gower Challenge which is a brilliant event with racing taking part around the cans and also some moderate distance racing (up to 30 miles) along the Gower Pennisular and around Swansea Bay to Port Talbot and back to Mumbles. If there is enough interest John will do some training during the intervening weekend (Boat storage at Mumbles for 3 weeks wouldn't be an issue but I would recommend a good waterproof tent). The remaining event would be the F16 Global Challenge, August 9th-12th. A practice race will be arranged for the 8th and if the weather behaves we'll probably sail/race down the peninsular to Oxwich and some Pub Grub on Wednesday 13th.
If anybody wants to suggest other dates or venues worthy of the F16 Flying Circus TT then please don't hesitate to put your ideas forward.
My youngest son is now racing a Hobie Dragoon and will be attending the following Cat Events:
Winter Warmup Series each Sunday in Feb Datchet Water SC 4 03 - 02 - 2008
RYA Youth Trials 2008 Pwllheli Sailing Club 31 - 03 - 2008
Eurocat Carnac 01 - 05 - 2008
Bala Cat Open Bala Cat Club 03 - 05 - 2008
Pevensey Cat Open Pevensey Bay 24 - 05 - 2008
Instow Cat Open Instow, North Devon 12 - 07 - 2008
Carsington Cat Open Carsington, Derbyshire 20 - 09 - 2008
RYA Zone Championships Dragoon WPNSA 27 - 09 - 2008
Grafham Cat Open Grafham Water SC 18 - 10 - 2008
Weston Cat Open Weston SC 01 - 11 - 2008
There may be one or two others. Consequently, I will be sailing the Stealth at those events that are Open. I will be stacking the Dragoon on top of the Stealth for travel to Carnac - it should be a great event with an F16 contingent plus 6 UK Hobie Dragoons!

Just passing this on (received today):
If you could add this to your fixtures list I would be most grateful.

Unfortunately, I won't be going as I've got to take Robert to race his Dragoon at Pevensey (and I'll probably race the Stealth there too).
It's a shame, as I've got fond memories of Stokes Bay in the 70s when I sailed Condors and Shearwaters.

I talked to Gabrielle at Datchet this week end and she is not aware of any F16 event this year. I wanted to volunteer for safety/race duty to lay out the marks and pluck you all out of the water.
Anyway, if Gabrielle doesn't know about it, it's not happening as she maintain the calendar for dwsc. Is it a joint event with another class by any chance? There is a Hurricane/Class A weekend planned on June 7/8?
The UK calendar on the f16 web site is completely empty...

Wouter, the Mumble event is:
- Not a Datchet (go back to the beginning of this thread were 2 events were planned there)
- Listed on the international calendar on the f16 web site, not the UK one.
The UK calendar is completely empty, with zero event listed. Hence my enquiry.
