SCHRS, Who is using it and who is having problems with it? or have most places switched to PY or Texel?

I've heard that there was a problem in Aruba when some of the F18's when calculated under SCHRS that they were coming out below 1.01?

Really, Any details. What was causing the problem - Long Daggerboards or was it mast area ?

SCHRS is used in the UK for most Cat races. A few use Texel.

I was not there, but from what I can make out, when they put the values of the F18 Capricorn in to the SCHRS formula she came out at 0.98 but was a fully legal F18 and raced under 1.01

Well here is the problem.

All A cats (for example) should bring their measurement cert to the even they wish to race in (if it is not a plain A class event) and that should have their handicap on it. I've been privi to some discussions where people believe that the some A classes rate at around 0.98 whereas others rate to about 1.

That is the problem with ratings rules where there is a rating for a "class" then the class is in fact a "box rule" that allows development and the rules of the box rule are not the same as the rules of the handicap measurement rule. You then get this type of situation where one group say, "it's an F18, thus it has a handicap of 1.01" and then others say "but the rateing rule gives 0.98".

I believe the rateing rule should be used.
