This has already been talked about some in the general forums, but yeah that thing is cool, we will just have to see if it can finally bring down the defender.

Such a development was always inevitable. The question is will it be reliable enough? Oh, and HOW much!!!!???? <img src=

No, no, the real question is: Will it be fast enough to beat Cogito?

Looks interesting Tony. But I said to me it looks like a photoshop image. There are some weird light effects going on. Maybe its just because its an old image.

That crew is going to suffer if they stuff the bows...

Looking at that C-class - I wonder if they're just using the foils for pitch control or if they're using them for roll control too to give them additional righting moment. No idea how you'd control both through the tiller extension, though.

Paul,

Have a look over on sailing Anarchy. I think they have both foils working the same way, no RM creation, just lift.

Pitch control is fore and aft movement.
Roll is left and right movement.

I would assume if they want to control roll, they would have to adjust the port and starboard foils independently. To me that sounds like crazy engineering.

It might be Robi, I just lifted it and posted it for reference so I can't really help ono that one. I wish I could photoshop that well though.

An interesting thing to me is that the wing looks as if it is solid and the boat can only be sailed on the one tack???? Unless the whole thing pops through somehow when it goes about?

IT does, the wind is adjustable. And the foils at the moment do not create RM, just lift, but it has been discussed that they have the ability to create RM with them it is just to hard on the platform.
