Hey There,

I'm a new catsailor on Candlewood Lake in Connecticut and was curious if anyone here is as well? I saw someone out Monday night on the trapeze of a hobie... I also saw a number of hobies along the shore as I was cruising around.

Apparently long ago there were cat races on the lake on a consistent basis, maybe we can get some going again!

Cheers,
Michael

My sister has a place up there and she and her kids sail a sunfish. What a beautiful lake.

Candlewood Lake is/was the home of Hobie Fleet 31. I raced there in the fall of 1984 - the 16A trophy still hangs on my wall in my home office.

I'm not sure who's still sailing there now - Cliff McCarty is the only one I've sort of kept in touch with, but I haven't seen Cliff since last August in Wildwood, NJ.

We are in Barnford, not too far away, and we would be psyched to go to a regatta at Candlewood Lake, especially if we could get Cliffy out there.

Count me in too! I just bought a N5.0 and am itching to get back into racing.
