I had one for 4 years, its an excellent boat. I wish I hadnt gotten rid of it. I used to sail it on LI Sound and on the Cape. Sailing on the Cape you have to deal with very shallow areas, and the Dart 16 is excellent for shoally shallow areas. I've sailed over dry sand bars, no problem. We used to take it out in the big NE swells and sail it full speed right up the beach to get past the shore pound. You cant do that with many boats.

The negatives to the boat are that there are only a handful in the US, and they are rather heavy. They also sit low in the water,so its a wet ride.

After a couple of years I wanted something faster and bigger.

Wow, that's...weird! How is that done? Leaping over or just pure power? I remember that old Hobie movie where a TheMightyHobie18 did a bit of sand-sailing but never since.
