A 75 ft. trimaran (Nigel Irens) with a skipper that's singlehandely screaming across the Atlantic. Skipper has had three or four "meals" in the last five days, a few minutes of sleep per day, honkin' across at at average of 16.7 knots, one hallucination last night, and she's in the final hours in the attempt to break Bourgnon's record set ten years ago on "Primagaz".

Oh, and she's 5'-2" tall and tawks funny. Simply irresistible.

If I were the Queen I'd have the Royal Navy clearing a path through the fishing boats and shipping lanes for her final approach to the Lizard.

Not since Chichester has so much been deservedly said about an English sailor. This girl is just phenomenal. Maybe one day there will be, on display, one of her boats next to Gipsy Moth and Cutty Sark in Greenwich.

Agreed - tough as nails. Although she missed the record by an hour, she deserves accolades for the gruely crossing she just made.

When I was in London last summer, I had the opportunity to go see both Gypsy Moth and Cutty Sark.

Unfortunately, Gypsy Moth is looking very bad. Too many days in the weather with no maintenance at all. Peeling varnish, open seams (she sits out of the water in a concrete drydock), frayed lines, faded everything. Very sad
