Is this article saying that someone sailed the English Channel in a C2 in less than 7 hours? It is not entirely clear to me.

Isn't the English channel about 20 miles at the narrowest point? Dover to Calais?

Is there a time change involved UK coast to the French coast?

Depending on where they crossed at, seems like it took longer than it should, but I'm guessing they did more sailing than I'm thinking distance wise.

Richard Branson is claiming 24 miles, http://www.telegraph.co.uk/active/7... itesurfing-English-Channel-crossing.html

Previous record was over a much longer course, 115 miles, details here: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=http%3A//www.karinebaillet.com/news/actualites/252/Yvan-Bourgnon-et-Karine-Baillet-defient-la-Manche-en-catamaran-de-sport.html

I think it can be broken to sub 5 hours. It won't be easy, but we do these things not because they are easy but because they are hard.
