[#16919]

During the day off at Tradewinds, I had a chance to get a bit of video with Hans Geissler and the new 16 foot G-Cat.

Also, we have entered a new era! I have posted one of the first high definition videos ever put on the web. It uses the new Online High Definition Format for Windows Media Player and is a 3 1/2 minute surfing video. Catsailing will be coming next in high def!!

Enjoy,
Brian

What is the story with the broken windshield on the van behind Hans in the G-Cat video?

Brian,

The quality of that video is astounding!

Jake

The van was parked in the lot before the event ... presumably after the hurricane but who knows? It was missing the radiator and obviously needed a windshield.

Dammit you are going to make me have to get a new computer. My processor can't handle it. Video quality is awesome as monitor and video card will goes to 1600 x 1200 but it is jerky do to 750 mhz CPU. Can't wait for cat ones.

I told the man with the van that cats were better, but he insisted that he could beat me with his laser...so I took an old aluminum spin pole to his windshield, ganked his radiator, and put that crap on ebay. I am a bad dude.

I think the guy who owns the busted van should be paying $10 dollars a day to keep it there. Seems fair right?

Trey, so thats the noise I heard Saturday night.

The van was fine on Friday, good as new. The wind picked up early Saturday morning, coconuts were flyin' and boats were rockin and flippin, you should have been there to see it. Next thing you know, the grill, gadiator and battery were sailing through the air towards the M-20 on the beach. Women started screaming, children cried, it was total mayhem.

That is what happened to the van.

Hey, don't bash on a broke college kid. Anyway, that hole in the windshield was for "air conditioning." Oh yeah, who needs a radiator anyway?

Tradewinds was the first race for the G-Cat. I believe they just got it together and I dont think the rudders were the final version.

There wasnt any plan in advance on doing that G-Cat video, we were just looking for something to do when the racing was cancelled Saturday. Im sure more info will be coming out about the boat over time.

Hans is also putting together an event in April in the Tampa area.
