Hi all!

It's almost here! The Chris Worrell Memorial Regatta - June 8-9 th on the beautiful Va beach Oceanfront.

We've got a great location again this year, The Ramada Inn on 57th Street. Great beach access and a fleet member will be on hand to tow your boat and trailer onto the beach for you.

(** Driving is not permitted on the beach - designated drivers only)

Saturday night we will have a party at the World Famous Worrell Brother's Restaurant with a terrific raffle sponsored by: Cateez, Hobie Cat USA, Murray's, Layline, Sailnet.com, APS, West Marine and numerous local establishments. Estimated dollar amount is $2000.00!!

Hurry! If you reregister by this Wednesday, June 5th, you'll get a free raffle ticket and you're guaranteed a T-shirt.

NOR- Register - follow the register online link)

Pre-registering is also going to help us get our number of trophies straight. So please, take a minute to send us a quick note and let us know if you'll be coming and what type boat you'll be on. Thank you.

Come out and support cat sailing this weekend.

Thanks!

Tracie Van Houten

Ok, pardon my ignorance, but I have two questions.

Why are the 17's grouped with the 14's?? Is it a speed consideration or is it something else? I'm still new to the hobie world [Linked Image]

Also what format are the courses?

The H14's and 17 are grouped together for registration because they are both single handed boats and therefore are not charged the same as double handed boats. This has nothing to do with speed, only registration.

Courses usually run are windward - leeward, with and with out leeward gates, with various Lap count scenarios.

If you have additional questions email Tracie at tracievh00@aol.com she will be glad to answer them

yeah, I feel dumb, after I posted that I figured it out.

Also, are the H17's and 17 Sports grouped in the same class? Or am I just not allowed to fly my jib?

I wasn't trying to make you feel dumb, sorry If I did!!

As far as your Jib, Several Division 9 H17 sailors usually come to the race with NON sport H17's if you take the Jib off I am sure they will be glad to have you Join thier Class for the Race, otherwise you may be placed in the Open class. The H17 racers from Div9 are a great group and I am sure will be glad to offer rigging tips and advice if you ask.

Good Luck,

Doug W
