During a recent reggatta I got stuck on the high side of my boat when she flipped and I accidently fell into the mainsail. Now one of the vertical panels is busted loose. My question is can a mylar sail be re-seamed? Is there an easy fix?

Cheers Dale

I do not know where you live but C&C sails here in Houston TX can repair any sail you have they have been doing it for more than 20 years (that I know of).. if you do not have access to a sail maker you might call one and ask them if you can do it yourself on your wife's sewing machine.

Until you've been to a sail loft the damage looks a lot worse than it really is. It's an easy fix for a decent sail loft. Not very expensive, either. Mylar reinforced with carbon fibre threads is easy to work with and the repair will only be noticed by yourself until a close inspection reveals the truth.
