New Feature for Pix Lovers!
Mary has been pestering me about having a place for ya'll to put pix on the site for quite a while now. So, I finally think I have it.
Didn't want some rinky dink thing and so finding the right software was not easy. But at last I think we have it.
I personally have not had a lot of time to play with it to see what kind of tricks it will do or not do.
So, I am counting on ya'll to have at it and then advise the rest of us how to make it really work well.
It is located at http://www.catsailor.com/gallery/
At that point I believe all you can do is view what albums are there, except those registered users that want to keep personal albums unavailable. (Neat way to collect albums of family, friends, etc and not have them stowed in the attic, yet still private)
To post pix you have to register and give a verifiable email address. You will not be able to post until the program emails you back. At that point you can log in and upload pictures.
To get started you need to start an Album or two or more. Click on Click on and then in the box below name your album. If you want more than one, Click on again and again until you have all the Albums you want. Then click on
Then all you have to do is Click on , select the Album you want it in and click on Upload.
The size of the pix is limited to no more than 2000 x 2000.
At any rate, that is the basics.
Once we get it up and running perfectly, I will change the site's template so it is easy to get to it whereever you are on the site.
If you have any questions be sure to email me at rick@catailor.com
Thanks, and enjoy,
Rick
Sorry about the registration, but not really.
Without our having some way of knowing who is posting what, we could be easily overcome by porn.., or whatever.
It is a MUST!
I understand how you feel about User Names and Passwords. I have a folder that is about 4" thick with nothing but that stuff.
For working on my own site, I have condensed the info down to 6 pages of small type with the User and Password info. And still, we got hacked this past spring and had to go in and change a bunch more passwords.
Life is hell!

Meanwhile, does anyone have any feedback on the program itself?
Rick
There is software available that can handle one login for the whole system. Problem is Rick has so much content on here, it would be a pain migrating it over to a content management portal software solution.
Take a look at my site for example http://www.ncsailing.org
one login handles the forums, the photogallery, calendar, and all the other benefits of the site.
My tech guy is already overwhelmed with stuff going on with this site. And Maughan is right about the extent of content on this site.
To tie in all of the programs that we have going would be a monster problem.., and there is really no reason to do so.
It is really simple:
1) Go to the page located at http://www.catsailor.com/gallery/
2) Click on Register
3) Type in the User name of PitchpoleDave
4) Type in your usual Password, whatever it may be
5) Fill in any mandatory or optional info
6) click on Submit (or whatever is there to complete)
An email will be generated and sent to you acknowledging your User Name and Password.
Now all you have to do is click on Long In, type in PitchpoleDave and your Password, check the box "Remember Me" and that will be all there is to it.
Enjoy the picture thing and let me know if you have any more trouble,
Rick
The program seams to work, I have migrated most of the photo album stuff I used to have on my own tiny little corner of the web to there, and can now start adding all the stuff that I have been wanting too but have not had the space. All those "papge under construction" tags will finallystart to disapeer.

Big DIITO here... a techno-conundrum, or as we say in real-time S/W design, "deadly embrace" or simply a "lockup state". BTW, I used my identical login and password as on main site... DURN.

A very good friends are here. All the friends are welcomed by me. A warm welcome to all of you. If have you any problems of any subject. Don't forget to get back to me.
