Hey everyone, i have been reading many posts about how to make the tramp tight when you rig it, but as a begginer i dont know exactly how to rig it. Front to back the the horizontal part fron center to outside? or the opposite way? Also what kind of chord or rope should i use and any other tips woud be greatly greatly appretiated. thanks!

Assuming you're asking about a Hobie 16, run the line for the center front to back. You should find a hole in the rear castings to start the line from. Just put a figure eight knot in. All three lines should end up in the center rear of the tramp.

There's different schools of thought on what kind of line to use. Some recommend a good non stretch yacht braid, others say use bungee. I've used both and didn't see much difference.

You might go to http://www.hobiecat.com/support/index.html and download the 16 assembly manual to make sure you're doing everything right. You can also look up your local fleet and hang out there. You'll find other sailors are very willing to help newbies set up their boat properly.
