I am down to my first knuckles now....That was a big race by AUS. They have just cut ESP's lead from 7 points to 3. They now only have to get one point between them and ESP in the medal race but will have to watch for ARG and GER just behind them.
We are in for a hot race in the medal race..... Hopefully with breeze too.
Top 10
ESP on 26
AUS on 29
ARG on 34
GER on 52
CAN on 57
NED on 58
ITA on 58
GRE on 60
GBR on 66
AUT on 68
Hagara not a threat but good to see him just scrape into the medal race in the T's last Games. He deserves it.

I know this has nothing to do with sailing, but the Olympics, but its come out that China's gymnastics team is all underage. I mean GO FIGURE.

Right, I was speaking in a more general sense.
I've never really understood the no-shortening provision, seems to protect juries from dealing with unscrupulous PROs at the expense of good, fair PROs, and for that matter, the good of an event. What I mean is, if races are being tossed because they can't be shortened, there is most definitely a negative effect on the leaders of those races.
Granted, everyone competing knows this going in, but to me, this is an ultimate example of tail wags dog. But then again, with all that is accused of going on in judged events (gymnastics, ice skating), this may be a small concession. Of course, if the race were going your way for a medal and got tossed, that would be hard to live with when it is so obvious that there's a viable answer used at the vast majority of other regattas.

They showed the 470 live, hopefully they'll do the same. Race starts at approx 2:30 your time.

I've been frustrated trying to find any glimps of Tornados anywhere?
With the Olympics almost over perhaps it is time to reflect on one of the brightest decision made.
In November the Canadians voted to remove the multihull. Now lets look at their Olympic results: RSX Men 23; RSX Women 17; Laser 9; Radial 17; 470 Men 29; Finn 5 Yngling 13, 49er 14
As I write this I don’t know where the Canadian Tornado team will finish but it sure a lot higher than a lot of the disciplines they supported.
How smart is Canadian Yachting Association! Perhaps it needs a board change to reflect what is actually being sailed well in Canada
