[#17182]

i just inherited a small cat. the title says that it is and 18' sizzler. it needs a little work. the previous owner put a new deck on it and i have to replace all the rigging. i wondered if anyone knows where i can get blueprints of the original deck layout? i cannot find much info on my boat. the sizzler 16' seems to be related, but mine has a hard deck, and is made out of fiberglass. any help or info is appriciated.

Lucky for you that Mary is the in-house expert on these sizzler craft you speak of.

Shoot her an email and ask her about it, I'm sure she'd be able to help in some kind of capacity.

The Sizzlers, both 16' and 18', had aluminum hulls and trampoline decks. The decks were mounted in a similar way to the Hobie 16, on four struts coming up out of the hulls, so the trampoline was raised slightly above the hulls.

The company also made a motorized version with the 18-foot hulls, and it was sold as the Sizzler Smoothie. That one had a hard deck, railing around, and mounting bracket for an outboard motor. Just a typical lake pontoon boat, except it went faster because of the hull shape.

I don't know what you have without seeing a picture of it. Maybe somebody put a mast on a Smoothie or put a hard deck on a sailboat. It's probably 30 years old.
