Seeing if I can attach a file.
I have been working on that since we installed this program and cannot get it to work. If you do, let me know how you did it.

Seems I yelled to soon, I can only get it too work for one session and only with my own posts. After I log off the web and log on again and go to the same post I get the same error message as you.
This baffles me a bit. looks like the link is getting fouled up and caching masks this when your still in the same session.
Well, I'm to tired now and have too much work to do the coming days to really look at it. Sorry.

try this:

Upon posting, you are prompted for an image file to upload. Images
must be either GIF or JPEG format. Images must be saved on your
hard disk. Your browser must support form-based file upload
(Netscape Navigator 2.0+ and Internet Explorer 4.0+ support this; IE
3.02 will also work provided that you have installed the file upload

Steven,
I think I did all that, and it still doesn't work. I did post with jpeg. Why don't you give it a try, and show us that posting an image works. I'd love to see someone be successful at this.
Thanks,
Tim

Dave,
Alutz is using a URL to attach his picture. I don't think anyone here has ever doubted that method of posting pictures. The question is how to upload a picture from your own hard drive, and get it to display. That's what I'm interested in figuring out, anyway. In his post he uses a URL, at least if I'm finding the post you're referring me to.

Rick's 11/20 post in this string shows a picture in the sidebar but many other posts show
Attachment
but no picture below. When I click on most of them I get
Content-Type: application/octet-stream
. Wouter's 11/20/01 8:34 attachment is text and I get that. Is my software missing something? Is there somewhere I can get a lesson on using this or is this string a lesson?
Thanks
when you post your message, attachment is on by default. When you view your file you need to uncheck the box. OK, now that I'm doing it, I see that I'm full of beans. Oh well.
As to the pictures on posts, if you right click on them and click on properties, you'll see the url where they are posted on the web.
