Hi... I have been trying to locate the local NACRA dealer on the internet and keep getting OOPS messages. Can you guys give me a phone number or name of the dealer? I am in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami.

Gracias...

Ha! I can't even find their payables department.., they owe me $6k in unpaid advertising. Corsair owes over $3k. And they both have left the country.

Who's got a Nacra17? They must have contact info; otherwise, this does not bode well for Rio ..

Key sailing is in the panhandle, they seem to be decent enough.

The only nacra dealers that I know of in Florida are performance sail and sport in Melbourne and Key Sailing in Pensacola.

Looks like the Tackle Shack in Tampa just sells Hobies and Lasers:

That reminds me Rick, I owe you $20 for my Catsailor subscription!

Check's in the mail, in about 10 minutes...

Sorry Mary, and thanks for not cutting me off!

Thanks, Tim.., Subscribers are the only thing carrying the magazine and the website at this time.

Appreciate folks buying from the store, as that will help keep things operating out of the red.

Another possible source of revenue would be your classified section. I would be willing to pay if the site allowed you to upload pictures of the items for sale. There are 3 sites that allow free advertising with pictures, www.thebeachcats.com the Hobie cat site and craigslist. I would be happy to pay for ads to support this site, but people want to see what they are buying before they will contact you.

shouldn't be difficult to do on the website, but the mag would require converting any pix to grayscale.

If you can just add the classifieds photos to the website that would be great, don't necessarily need them in print.

At this point the labor for ads is only a copy and paste situation. Pix would require sizing, and speed adaptions.., not a big deal, but enough to add a little cost.

I will try to work on it.

All of that could be accomplished in less than a second with a Photoshop drop applet (it's like a macro).

You can process as many photos as you want automatically.

ahh, we call that

optimized for print

(I think Rick is talking about print, not the site)

Key Sailing in Pensacola Beach is your best bet for Florida.

It is hard to believe there is no South Florida Nacra dealer. No offense to Key Sailing, but South Florida is a long, long way from Pensacola.

Steve Marsh from the Finish Line (Corsair) used to sell Nacras, but I have been led to believe Nacra dealers are hard to find in the US.

I wonder what your dad would say about racing a N 17 - Bet he would go for it!;-) I wish I was in shape enough to keep up with my grandson for a day...

It's funny they're so hard to find now, when back in the day they tried to MAKE you buy from the one closest to you. I always used Rick Bliss w/ New England catamarans. he wasn't the closest, but he was the (and still is) the best.
For Fl. as stated above Kirk or Charlie at Key Sailing are awesome also.

If he was a youngster again, he would be all over it. ON the 5.2/5.5 SL he always raced either with a youth (older teenager) or female (his wife) as crew. They would have been the prototypical crew for the N17.

I remember the first time we rigged a spinnaker on a 5.2 in his back yard (back in the days before a spin pole). He was really excited. We took it to the lake that weekend and he tied his boat off backward from the dock and hoisted the spinnaker and set it while tied to the dock (fairly light day, obviously). He left it like that all the way through lunch, just to show the monohull guys what he had rigged up.

Highly doubt it since she's the Importer for AHPC. Most likely Robbie was hired to coach, nothing to do with being a dealer, but who knows stranger things have happened.
