I have been getting more time in sailing with the spinnaker now that the weather is warm.

While sailing I have noticed that the leech of the spinnaker likes to really flutter

alot whenever I "heat-up" the boat in winds over 7 mph. Does anyone else have this

problem? I was out on Saturday with an H20 w/spin and noticed it had the leech doing the

same thing. Is the spin just not sheeting at the correct angle, hoisted too little/too

much, or something similar? Or should I just not worry about the flutter? How bad is

the flutter for the sail?

On my boat the luff will flutter/collapse if either the sail is not hoisted enough or not sheeted enough or you are sailing too high for the current sheet tension. I have never had the leech flutter.

my chute is bit full at the bottom and it flutters at about 10 knots. i would think about changing your sheeting angle a bit. maybe a touch forward.
