It's that time again. The Duck Cup will be held on June 13 and 14 at Nor'banks sailing in Duck. Those that have been before will attest this is one great venue and one great race. If you travel over 10 miles to get to the race(or even if you don't) your entry fee will only be $5 per day. The most affordable distance racing on the planet.
Here's the NOR:
http://www.norbanks.com/Events.htm
ALL multihulls invited.
Come on out and have a blast and maybe a beergarita or two.

I'm in! Looking forward to some beergaritas. How about it VA Beach and Wilmington sailors? Rumor has it that some of the SC crowd might even make a showing. I'll believe it when I see it, but that's what I was told on the deck of Stingray's in Tybee.

Derek,
Glad you are coming back again. This is a really fun race at a great location.
2 semi challenging distance races in protected waters starting and stopping at the same location. Lori's Beergaritas will be around all weekend!! We almost got to 30 boats last year, lets get there this year. Please contact me anytime if you have any questions about the Duck Cup.

Tried to catch you on the phone but was unsuccessful. Is there any camping on-site or near-by?
Thanks

I'll be there. This race was a blast this year. I know at least one of the Wilmington (junkyard crew) guys are coming, it may be 2-3.

I guess I can't turn down a personal invite. I'll have to make some arrangements and may need a crew....

Hmm, Waves too? If I can finagle my schedule. This truly is a good water and usually good wind place.

Where are boats kept overnight?

On the grass rigging area that looks like a golf course. Jon has a rental operation that we pretty much storm the castle on for the weekend. On that note some boat charters may be available, you'd have to contact Jon at the link provided.
Why not the FX-1?

Discovered some trailer probs and then discovered more trailer probs and those aren't fixed yet. Then discovered shroud probs and other wire problems and those aren't fixed. Plodding along.

It takes quite a bit of patience to maintain these boats and you have to like doing it; and the jet skis look so easy and so tempting...

JJ,

Where in NC are you I might be able to double stack your boat for you. I live in Wilmington, NC. I can also get your rigging from my teammate Mike at Layline.

Crap, that's the same as Reaggae isn't it? I probably can't do either so it doesn't really matter but I am still tryin' to work out a plan.

I enjoyed the Duck Cup last year (despite the myriad of boat problems I had) and whish I could make it again. Unfortunately I have a conflict with the SJ21 Nationals. Good luck to those of you who go - have fun!

Regards,
Eric

I'd rather have your conflict than mine. I found out today that I have to work that weekend. <img src="<>/frown.gif" alt="frown" title="frown" height="15" width="15" />

On a positive note, that's one less boat that Todd will have to worry about correcting over him. Good luck to all that go, it's worth the trip!

So the big question is Mosley pulling a Mosley? My guess would be YES!

As far as your avatar
Live it up chuckles, it'll never happen again.
I recall you crying like a little girl when I rolled you to leeward downwind. Something about

I'll flip

. How'd the final results of Bokeelia work for ya?

BWAAA HAAA! OUCH!

Actually, it was Mosley that showed up at BWYD while Tawd was absent last weekend. Mosley taught us all a couple things in 8 to 10k before the breeze built.

I taught them how to pick the favored tack off the startline (thanks to Billy for one race on sunday for holding the rest of the fleet to starboard while I got a 1/2 leg advantage on the first beat).

Hi Guys,

I really really really wish I could come to the Duck Cup ... OBX is one of my favorite places in the world to relax and sail. Unfortunately my financial situation is so poor I do not have the finances to attend.

So could you do me a favor??? Please consume a

beverage

while watching the sunset for me, please.

I'll be busy working at RHYC preparing the club for RHYC's Down the Bay and Annuall One-Design Regatta on June 19th through 21st. I hope to see many of you there as for years I've been the beneficiary of your hard work organizing events that I have participated in ... and now it is my turn to payback in kind.

Have a GREAT time, excellent racing, good fellowship ... and beautiful sunsets

Missing you guys
Harry

Tawd, as much as I would like to come, Im having a hard time logistically getting there. The wifey works sunday night, so I may not get to sail Sunday, and I have the 3 kids in tow that weekend, so its going to be hard to sail with them. Im not trying to pull a

me

, but sometimes life gets in the way.
I did miss beating up on you at BWYD, and Im not scared or sleepy. Our time will come again when we will meet on the race course my friend, and you wont be happy!

Im not saying yet that I cant make the Duck Cup, just trying to make it work

It's official. Mosley and I are both pulling Mosleys next weekend. Who's next? My money's on 1)Tad 2)Todd 3)Trey....in that order.

Seriously though, you can't beat the Nor'banks venue for a regatta.

Tad will be sailing at the Reggae Regatta on his local lake. Its a good opportunity to show a monohull crowd what a cat can do.

Derek pulls an amazing mind reading feat.

I all ready have an excuse I'm not using, I gotta fly out of Norfolk at 5:44 am Monday to get to Houston for the Great Texas race. I'm not sure what I'll be racing on N-20, A or Weta, but I'll be there.
